For Canadian owners, once you've entered your VIN into their system at https://www.hyundai-gpsmap.ca/mapcare you will see a few new choices such as How to Install Updates, Take a Survey etc but the best read is the New Features for Version 13.0. This document mentions a software update as well as the map update.

If you want the .PDF here it is:

  3. Thanks, I like the voice recognition by search functions

  4. Was any US user able to get their VIN registered in the Hyundai Mapcare Website (mapnsoft.com)? I cannot. It always tells me that my VIN is wrong or not yet registered. I called the bluelink call-center (the 1800 number on the website) and they tell me that the VIN is registered and all systems work fine. Then I called a different call center of mapnsoft and they told me they have no idea and I need to open a ticket.

Just wondering if anybody else has that same issue.

But the updates aren't available yet is that correct?

In Canada, that happened when we bought the car in February, and we were told we could register in April which is what happened. I guess all the dealers have to send the data in for your cars to be recognized in the system? That seems to be what happened in Canada.

  8. Hmm, interesting. It's been 1.5 months for me now. And as mentioned Hyundai says on their end everything is correct. The guy on the phone said that updates happen in spring and fall ... whenever that is, but it seems to fall into line with your information.

I guess it means playing the waiting game ...

  9. Says currently unavailable for the 133S50SEV part#. (I just viewed the whats new section)
Not so sure I want to update after looking at the Map update manual(12 steps) and the map download guide (14 steps)
Just opening the one file (7MB pdf) crashed my PC, had to obliterate Adobe viewer and reload new to open it (well this is going good), very vague instructions as to whether to reuse original sd card or go buy another one.
Like I said earlier post, I am not going to be the canary in the coal mine on this one and will wait until someone (Cdn) successfully completes the update and hope for a well versed post on what to and not to do.

Just tried the Canadian website quoted above; It accepted my VIN, but (sorry), said map update not yet available; offered thanks for my patience. Downloaded the 8 page installation manual anyway.

  14. I contacted the mapnsoft customer support. They are not very good. After they asked me if I can send them a screenshot of the car entertainment system info screen to be sure that my car actually supports navigation and I sent it to them I didn't hear for 3 days. After I poked them with a stick (follow-up email) they told me that the V13 update should be coming in early May. And also that I should double check if I have an onboard navigation system to make sure it's applicable to my car!? (I should look for a button that says "Navi" on it on the dashboard (OMG).

However that's when I should try to register my car again ... I kind of lost faith in those guys, but OK. We'll see what happens.

Was any US owner able to register their car there yet?

I'm waiting for the techno geek in the house to wake up to install. But I did go out to Kona to get the ID needed to set it up i.e. Press Setup button on the panel to the right of the nav screen, from the Setup menu, swipe right on the screen and press "System Info" and then you will see the device ID.
I'm not sure from my non techno geek take on things whether the install happens in the car, or via pulling the SD card out and doing at the computer. I will leave it up to my husband to figure this out. Has anyone done the update today?

  17. The process should be to pull out the SD card, load the info onto it on the computer and put it back in the car. The car will then do the rest of the install process from the SD card.

However, since I am unable to register my car on the US website yet (they said early May) I can't do the update yet (or any time soon because they haven't figured out their sh**)

I tried to download the map and it didn't work. The download button when grey for a bit then back to blue. Tried several times. Finally quit and went back to try again and it says my map has been update and non are available. It is so frustrating dealing with Hyundai Canada!!! Don't know how to get the map now. I sent them a support ticket, but don't have much confidence.

Did you do it with taking the SD card out of the card and using your computer, or try to do it in the car? My husband is not wanting to try it either way until someone else has a successful experience doing it. I do think the update has to be done with a computer with the SD card from the car, or at the dealership with them doing the same.

I am not sure why but the link I posted earlier looks like it goes to an older version of the Mapcare with a company called MNSOFT. If you then enter the model type and year it should redirect you here:

    https://www.hyundai-gpsmap.ca/mapcare/

If this does not get you to the correct site you can link to it through the Hyundai.ca web site.
It looks like you have to "Place an Order" to proceed with the download.

I was trying to download to my computer so that I could then transfer it to the Sd card. Did everything right, placed the order, entered the Id number, got the download link, but it wouldn’t download

So far it goes well and we're proceeding with a 28 gig (!) download and only one error so far.

To be safe I copied the lengthy order number and it did have to be entered later unless I missed something.
