Not to worry. My EV came back up after a while to what it was before. As far as I can tell, it only affected the HV range estimate.

My Car was delivered on August 28th. Thank's to this forum I was able to bring the range problem and the appropriate bulletin to my dealer. They took my car in but confirmed that my car had the most recent update already installed at time of delivery. Fast forward, I have driven it 3000kms / 1875 miles and filled in gas for the first time today. The HV range now after top up is showing 617kms / 385 miles (does not include EV Range) Does that sound about right for those of who have had the range issue fixed.

No that is not right, my dealer told me the same thing which is just a way of saying they didn't do anything . You will still need a fix. I'm still waiting for my plug appointment to do this fix .

Toronto … No I don't believe they applied the service bulletin to patch your car's software. My car came out with 575 km after having the bulletin applied which is consistent with the miles the folks in the US have been quoting after their patch.

I think this is similar to what I get with a full tank of fuel. I think it is a bit overstated but nowhere near the degree of those who got a range of 900+ miles initially. It hasn't bothered me so I will ask them to check again about the bulletin when I take it in for service. I have an annoying rattle from the underside of the steering column so may take it in for that at some point and check the bulletins at the same time.

You’ll know for sure when you add your next tank of gas. If it goes up significantly then you don’t have the update or the update was botched. The more EV vs HV you drive, the more unrealistic it will get at next fill up without the update.

As Ken noted, if you have lots of pure EV driving between fill ups then your HV range will get very high. Mine was as high as 1901 km! In that case I had driven for about a month (2200 km) in pure EV mode between gas fillups. After the patch I'm maxing out at 575 km.

Yup - after first fill up with almost 2800 miles, HV range shot up to 1000. And since then I've ran out of EV a few times (EV estimates have been higher than before maybe due to heater use) and ran in HV mode for about 20-30 miles. HV range has not moved below 1000.

Going to dealer tomorrow to have them apply 18-069 (is 18-091 the replacement?) and 18-097 (charging system) which they have documented before.

I asked for the HV fix and the dealer said they did it so I filled up 18.5 L and the HV range is still over 600km (385 miles) . Does it take time for the fix to settle in ? Also this was my first fill up in over 4500 km

I've read here that some get 575km on a full tank but isn't that still high? At 5.5L per 100 and a 25 ot 26 litre tank we should never get over 500km?

Cool this would mean that our Clarity doesn’t need the patch because after our first fill up after driving 95% EV the HV range did not go berserk.

Does this fix also fix it not updating properly? I've used HV mode a few times and the mileage didn't update until I stopped the car and then would drop by 10ish miles (about how far I drove) the next time I started it.

Hmmm ... not sure about that V8. In my case (and most reported on this site I believe), the issue didn't appear until a couple of gas fills. If you've only filled up once, keep an eye on it as you add more gas down the road. My guess is that you will see the problem in a couple of tanks ...

    Hi everyone,
I'm a Clarity owner that exported the car from the US to a different country.
The dealer here takes their time to check with Honda US regarding the SB.
I called my US dealer and he said based on the VIN that there are 4 SB for my Clarity 18-089,18-090,18-091,18-096
I assume the 18-069 SB doesn't appear based on a VIN check.
My question is - is it possible to get the SB update(s) sent to me as a file? My dealer said it's not possible but I remember reading people have them on USB sticks.
If someone has any of the above SBs (especially 18-069) on a file and can send them to me, I'd be happy to contact them privately.

I've never read any poster on this forum say they had Honda Clarity Service Bulletin software updates on a USB stick or any other storage medium. Perhaps it was on another forum that you read about purloined Honda SB software?

Possibly referring to Navigation System updates, which I believe are done over USB.

    I believe 18-069 was superseded by 18-091.

Never been available for the Clarity, isn’t available now, never will be in the future. It’s the classic unobtainium.
Honda will never share their code to the public for the obvious reasons of security and economics.
However I am waiting for some enterprising teenager to hack and jail break our Claritys. What a can of worms that will open!
