BTW, I understand that the connection to the servers would only be done sporadically, but why not constant while on WiFi?
My understanding of the "wifi connection" that the Clarity makes is that it is limited to device-to-device communication. For example, playing music from your phone to the car over WiFi (instead of bluetooth, or CarPlay wired connection). The car does not communicate to the internet through the wifi link. (I was excited, hooked up my car to the wifi of my house....but no change in update rate or connectivity. In fact, when I am in my garage and right under the wifi it is particularly poor, presumably because the garage has poor cellular reception for whatever service Honda uses for its actual internet access).
My Hondalink is no longer refreshing my remaining mileage or charge status. Tried reinstalling , rebooting car , nothing works .
There are everal threads on the erroneously high HV range. The fix is to have your dealer apply an update with Seevice Bulletin 18-069.
Whenever mine gets stuck, I bring up the HondaLink screen in the car. No one else has reported that this action updates the info on their phone app, but it does mine.
I supposedly had that done already, the last time it was in the shop. The EV Number was much higher, in the 70’s or 80’s from memory.
Same here. Just had to do it, today, in fact. Although the problem hasn't happened for about two weeks. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Inside EVs mobile app
I thought there are two modes WiFi works on the car. One is as a WiFi hotspot (even though it won’t give you internet), and as a WiFi client which can connect to the internet for whatever functions it could use. This is how my 18 Ody does it, and how you would update the head unit’s software. I have an EX-L which does not include hotspot functionality (ie an LTE cell connection)
Still can't get Honda link to refresh charge status or remaining mileage. I've reinstalled app, connected to the car , rebooted car, re-registered car in the app. Cannot get the thing to update .
Yes I have tried that. Looking for anything other than unhooking the 12V. Thanks for the suggestion , keep em coming .
Nope still doesn't do anything . The odometer and location do update but the charge status and the range do not. Frustrating as it was working for over a month. Just realized it coincided with the first use of my home chargepoint fast charger.
No I haven't tried another charger. I'm going to try the Honda 120v wall again and see what happens .
I don’t think it’s the ChargePoint. I have one at home and have been charging on it for 6 months and my HL never fails to update.
Yeah I don't think it's that either. Few questions about chargepoint since you have the same charger. I usually get 7.2 kW as the charge rate, is that what you observe? It would be great to have an option to stop charging if the charge drops below let's say 2kW as I don't need the last 5 to 10 min of the top up. I should send a suggestion as it would allow me to hit full Regen quicker
Update, everything is working now but I have no clue what fixed it after 9 days of not updating. The only thing I did differently that I can tell is I removed my phone from the bluetooth list and re-registered it. A day later it is working again, not sure if that did it or not but its worth a try.
7.2 charging rate is what I get too. The only thing I find missing in the CP is the ability to stop charging at a user selectable %SOC or as you mentioned a selectable rate.
Yeah I don't believe the car communicates it's level of charge but I could be wrong. That is why I thought for a home charger it would be good to stop as soon as the car accepts less charge
