  1. Is this pre or post software update? If it's post update, that is certainly very good to hear.

This was shortly before the BMS update. The curve changed after the update. After the update, I started out at 72kwh at 14% charge, then it dropped to 66 kwh and it slowly increased to 69 kwh by 54%. At 54% it dropped to 44kwh where it stayed until 76.5% when it dropped to 35kwh and shortly after hitting 78%, it dropped to 24 kwh. The weird thing is that it should have dropped to 58 kwh at 54%, not 44kwh

Don't believe so. I can get 76kwh sometimes just not all the time. Interesting I just watched a video on charging a Tesla where the charging cables perform better if you place a cool damp cloth over the charging handle. I may try this.

Can someone tell me how to monitor what the kw rate is? I am new to this part of it all.

  6. Well, unless you have an odb2 reader plugged into your car, you can only see that on the dashboard of the car while it's charging, or on the screen of the charger (if they actually show it, but I think most of the fast chargers do).

If you have an odb2 reader, you can log it and display as a graph.

It shows on the dashboard? I haven't noticed, but then again, I have only charged for a few minutes.

  9. Yes, on the right side next to the speedometer, it's showing a battery with the current state of charge as well as the charging speed in kW. You can even try with your granny charger, same thing.

It will disappear after a couple minutes or so unless you don't turn off the car. You can turn it back on by pushing the power button.

If you leave the car door open while charging, even just a little bit, the SoC and charge speed display will remain..

Or just open the door and close it while it is charging and it will show up for a few minutes and then the display will go back to sleep.

Any ideas why I would only be charging at 20KW on a 150KW charger?

    Battery is at about 30%.

I'm not going to complain too much as the session is free due to an earlier issue and I have time, but just wondering so I know what to do differently in the future.

  14. It could be the charger. I had that happening, maxing out at 30 kW then I switched chargers to the next stall and it charged at 60+ kW.

Yeah, I called them back and they got my free session moved over to another charger and it is at 75KW, well 70kW now that I am at 51%

^^ You see now why I was complaining about public charger reliability in the other thread? :)

They had 5 other stations there, none were in use and it still would have worked, just slower. Honestly, though having the issues is very rare for me.

    probably issue with the charger..
There is are 2 free 50kw chargers about 20 miles from my home.. One of the 2 charges at normal speed, 44 to 46kw and after 15 to 20 minutes of charging, it drops to 20kw, even if I'm still well below the charge level where the car starts demanding less charge.. Actually, both chargers at that location had issues recently.. The right unit would only charge at 32kw.. So, after 2 minutes, I disconnected and went to the left unit.. The left unit charged nicely at normal speed for 20 minutes and then dropped to 20kw.. Disconnected and plugged in again and it went back up to 45kw to 48kw until I got to 76% when it dropped to 35kw and to 24kw at 79%..
Can't complain.. the charge is free, so I don't care if there are small issues like that..

I have a Kia e-niro sign up thinking it will be faster then evgo charger which it was by bit but come to surprise that I got charge 2.8 X more then I should I got there magical America pass+ should have been charge $0.18 minute but got charge $0.50 a minute according to car computer charging never when passed 71 kw and according to there receipt there stats never when pass 73kw yet still got charge like my car took 125 kw... Bit disappointed I would think twice about using them again unless I'm in emergency.

    47 minutes x $0.18 = $8.46
    47 minutes x $0.50 = 23.50

    That's huge difference + tax

  21. I believe the Kia e-niro has a special plan, just like the Hyundai Kona. You have to manually sign up for it in the app and put in your VIN number. Then you will get 35¢ per minute.

Yes I saw that but there America pass+ was bit cheaper and didn't mind paying the $4 monthly fee but I want to get charge what I received not what they want to charge which will be $0.18 per minute for charging @ less then 75 kw. Not $0.50 a minute for what they charge me for there claim reach past 75+ kw

The kia/hyundai specific plan is $0.35 per minute with no monthly fee. You need to enter your VIN though.
