Well, mine may be in front, since I just looked at MyGarage and...
    "PRODUCTION BEGINS
Today's the day! Your MINI has entered the production queue."
That's 8 business days before the folks at AskMINI told me just two days ago.

YES! Thank you for posting - I just checked and mine also say “today’s the day”. When I wake up tomorrow it might be in process. Very exciting!

    Hooray!

Well, you will get yours ahead of mine, then, given the extra time for mine to pass through the Panama Canal!

I'll be excited to see your pictures while mine is still on a boat!

I’m not calling ‘the race’ yet! We have seen on this forum how one Mini can mysteriously sit at the UK port while others pass through quickly. Fingers crossed for both of us.

@Brooks Rogers - can we get an updated location on your ship? Are you now under 3 weeks?

  8. Hi All!

This was such a fun thread to read through. We just ordered our 2022 SE Electric Collection ( ;) ) in Island Blue with the 17" Power Spoke wheels last month on the 19th (I've added it to the shared Google Sheet). I've been waiting to make my first post until after I finally got my production number and VIN from my dealer of which they just got to me this afternoon. OMG, I'm SO STOKED!!! Got to register our My Mini Garage and tracked our SE for the first time.

    upload_2021-4-12_16-10-45.png

That's the stock image anyway. Love that we got to choose the chrome delete (piano black trim) as part of the "Electric Collection" package. Really looking forward to how the multi-tone roof is going to look as well, especially since we also opted for the panoramic moonroof. I hope it doesn't completely negate it, but we'll be enjoying the ride inside and won't be looking at the roof to much, I expect.

I've been wanting to go full electric for quite a while now, but was never in a good financial situation to do so. The Mini SE was perfect for us, because my wife loves Minis and was at first disappointed we wouldn't be able to get an SE in Lazer Blue as she was hoping for, but then she saw the Island Blue and it was a done deal (even though Island Blue only comes with the Electric Collection package and we didn't really WANT anything else in it, so we are basically paying 3k more just for the color). But that's OK, cause I get to have my EV and a REALLY fun one at that!

I hope that this thread hasn't lost it's interest. I see the posts have sort of died down, but I'd love to keep hearing from @Toi and @insightman more! Did anybody get the Headliner in Anthracite? I've heard that this is definitely the way to go and we did get that for ours, but I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks here.

Also, am I crazy or is there a difference between Sunroofs and Moonroofs? Does it depend on the manufacturer? If so, does anyone know what moonroofs mean to BMW Group? Like, do moonroofs open at all on the Mini or is it only Sunroofs that do that? Did anyone else get a "panoramic moonroof" and, if so, can you post pictures so I know what to expect on mine?

I'll be sure to update with my experience cause this thread has helped me so much so far with my delivery journey, even though I'm still a baby in it.

Congratulations! I've been fairly busy with work as of late, but I've been enjoying mine as much as I can... I bought mine for commuting but we are still working from home until after July at last word... but once that changes, the miles will definitely start going up. I drive it like I stole it and it keeps asking for more (only hit the de-powering once after an -ahem- extended high acceleration and top speed run *looks around* on a closed and controlled course of course). Best of luck and wishes for speedy delivery to you!

Moon roof for Mini means front glass slides and opens up. Back one does not on the hardtops (ages ago it propped open but not for quite a few years) so current F56 will have one working and one stationary. Both have shades but not total black out. I tend to keep the shade open in the front but not the back as my kid kept pulling it closed. Though now he's a front seater so might change that

Congrats on your purchase. This is my 2nd Mini and it does not disappoint! I think the SE is superior than the regular S and I loved driving stick. So this was a big change and hard for me to drop a 6sps, but one pedal driving is more fun I think than 3. Love my car totally

Congrats, @MiniSER! I will add you to my offline stats tracking (I pull data from the forum spreadsheet). The delivery stories have mainly slowed down due to the 2021 to 2022 LCI transition, which caused a delay on many new orders. But we have at least one 2022 that has been delivered (@mikeg0305), and many more in the pipeline now. Mine is due at the dealer any day now. So I think the posts on this thread will start to pick up.

  13. Thanks, @Toi and I'm glad to see you post even with your busy work schedule. I've been working from home since April 2020 myself as well. I occasionally will need to travel in state about 100 miles away, so I'm excited to test the SE out on that journey. It is uphill on the way there, so, I'm a bit anxious about that, but there are public charges about half way, so not too worried. I will just need to leave about a half hour earlier than I typically would.

Awesome! Thanks for verifying for me @Lainey! I was hoping that was the case with the moonroof.

Excited for you @GvilleGuy and can't wait to see pics!

Welcome! You will not be disappointed when your SE arrives.

I have the anthracite headliner, it's nice and hasn't caused any excessive heating issues. You can mitigate any interior heating by either remote opening the windows/moonroof before getting in the car by holding down the unlock button on the remote (or door lock), using the app, or having climatization set the temperature before departure.

The technical difference between a sunroof and a moonroof is moonroofs are glass and sunroofs are typically metal and non-see through. MINI's moonroof is nice because of the sliding shade screen so you can filter out sunlight if too bright. One thing I like to do in summer is close the screens and open the moonroof, getting fresh air but keeping debris out of the car.

You haven't seen me on this thread much because my delivery story is so long and protracted (ordered in August, 2019, delivered a year later) that I worry it would depress prospective SE customers. I follow this thread closely and "like" every report of a MINI Cooper SE getting closer to its forever home. I wish I could be in the passenger seat when everyone drives the SE for the first time.

Didn't you know that on the Electric Collection cars, MINI paints the entire roof--including the panoramic moonroof--with the multi-tone colors, turning the moonroof into a sunroof? Just kidding.

Every Iconic-trim SE comes with the Anthracite headliner, so lots of us have them. I like the Anthracite headliner, but I'm glad we have the moonroof and the Satellite Grey upholstery to brighten up the interior a bit.

My wife was a bit apprehensive about my ordering our SE, but the smile on her face when she first drove it was one of the sweetest car experiences in my automotive life (I still haven't convinced her to press the accelerator to the floor, however). That your wife was already a MINI fan before you ordered is a big plus. I hope your beautiful Island Blue SE arrives very soon!

I am delaying my purchase from tomorrow to Saturday. Apparently, my salesman tracked down some bonnet stripes and said he can get them installed if I delay to Saturday. So close now to taking ownership!

40 miles driven this afternoon! Charging in the garage right now and tinkering with settings. Delivery story tomorrow. I’m having too much fun!

Got up with the sun and left the house to get some breakfast sandwiches. A normally 15 minute trip...but 37 minutes and 20 miles later, I arrived home with breakfast and a sheepish grin. Told my wife “well, I got to the restaurant and saw the interstate on-ramp...no cars....beautiful sun...and just had to check it out!” Odometer up to 89 miles in less than 24 hours. upload_2021-4-18_8-25-45.gif This car sinks its teeth into the turns and says “you will not slide on my watch!”

Photos should happen today, with post tonight about my delivery experience.

Welcome to the club of finding excuses to drive further. Hope breakfast wasn't temperature sensitive :D
