Hi all, when I run the AC to cool the cabin, I hear a sound similar to a CD reader/changer.That's the closest sound I can compare it to. It comes and goes, maybe it's it the vent opening and closing? Any knowledge on this would be appreciated.

I've noticed that too. The sound occurs every several seconds, AFAIK the whole time the climate control is on, but I generally only hear it when I park somewhere quiet and sit there in the car for a while before turning it off.

Ok, I hear at when vehicle is stopped or moving at very low speed.

I've surmised that it is the servos (tiny motors) moving the dampers to re-route airflow in the ductwork.

I would also guess servo motors in the HVAC box adjusting flow direction. See if the recirc/fresh buttons change when this sound occurs.

My second guess is the electric a/c compressor itself. Since it can and does run without the ICE on, it's more distinctive and, to me, kind of sounds like an optical disc drive spinning up. That is until the condenser fans come on and drown out all other sounds.
