Hello, I was wondering is there any pickups or SUV's that have gone electric??

It depends on your definition of "SUV". I think Tesla markets the Model X as an "SUV", altho it's really a CUV. And absurdly, Jaguar is marketing the I-Pace as a "compact SUV" altho I think most reasonable people would call the 5-seater I-Pace either a hatchback or a liftback sedan.

Oh, also some call the Chevy Volt EV a "compact SUV", altho it's even more obviously just a hatchback.

The Workhorse W-15 really is a full-sized PHEV pickup, altho it's made for commercial use and won't be produced in large numbers.

Is there an easy way to resize photos here? Of course I can pull one into PhotoShop and resize it that way, but I'm wondering if there is a simple way to do it with the forum's software. I posted this picture in another post, and it's really larger than what I wanted:

So I was wondering if there was an easy way to display it at a smaller size.

  6. The only option within the Forum is to use a thumbnail instead of the entire image.

What I might do sometimes is just make it the size I want on the screen, take a screen shot, pop it into Paint then crop away everything but the now-smaller image. (that sounds like a lot, but it's probably less than a minute.)
Thumbnail example below. *wonders to himself if thumbnail size can be slightly increased.

Thanks, Domenick. It's very nice to have a forum moderator who responds to questions and requests so promptly!

Forum moderator is mostly a thankless job... but today at least you get a big

    THANK YOU!

I would like to propose a sub forum titled something like:

"Not a Plug-in" or "Fuel Cell and Not Plug-ins" or "Missing J1772"

It would be a natural home (or Honey Pot) for wandering fuel cell advocates and could also host any other non-J1772 vehicle. For example, we haven't seen the HHO hucksters, yet, but they blow hot and cold. Alternatively, I suspect perovskite solar covered cars are coming.

I may be overthinking this, "Off Topic" could work too.

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

  10. I've added a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle sub-category in the Other section.

Is there a way to post pictures in the comments on the news items?

  13. Typically, if you post a link to an image in a comment on the InsideEVs.com website, our moderator there will do something to make the image appear. It doesn't happen automatically, but it should happen. It may take up to 30 minutes or so for them to get to it.

    Sorry for the bump:
I was hoping to find more technical discussions and tables are a great way to share data. But I also realize 'table' tag software can be expensive and doesn't make sense if no one else shows an interest. Please understand I'm not advocating anything as much as sharing an insight.

  16. Are you referring to the Monthly Plug-In Sales Scorecard on InsideEVs?

    yes please.
I look at it and use
    yes, please
I look at it and use it as a kWh generator of "whom is using how many batteries/kWh or gWh
ie there is fierce competition on EV's and PHEV's, so how to tell whom i actually doing what
I find a nice vehicle like the Prius Prime plugin, which only uses 8.8kWh/vehicle or the Chevy Bolt which uses 60kWh/vehicle or most any Tesla which seem to use between 80.5kWh - 100kWh/vehicle.
    How to compare?
So, right now, using your numbers of vehicles times kWh/per vehicle, it seems as a rough number, Tesla used ~60% of all kWh of batteries (excluding China) from 1/1/2017 - 6/30/2017 so I think a significant number is kWh/batteries used by mfgr

Let me suggest a cut and paste of the scorecard into a spreadsheet. Then you can use a second table with the estimated kWh per vehicle to do the lookup and math you're looking at. For example, the Tesla EVs come with different battery sizes. This uses your estimate of the battery capacity for each model.

BTW, always give credit to your sources. There are too many who don't.

    Good Luck!

  19. So, I'm told that this information is available in the Compare EVs section of the website. They want to keep the Sales Scorecard separate for a number of reasons.

Hey! I like the way "Ignore" functions now a lot better than when I tried using it a few months back. Back then, the forum software didn't show when someone on Ignore had posted to a thread. It didn't even show threads created by the Ignored person!

I'm glad someone "turned down" the strength of the Ignore function here. This makes it much more usable than it was before.

Who is responsible for that? Domenick? Jack?

Well, whoever it was, thank you very much!
    :)

Apparently I spoke too soon. I'm back to not even seeing threads created by an ignored person, let alone any indication that someone is responding to their post by quoting part or all of it.

Not seeing their threads is not really a problem. You might see in the six recent posts something. Regardless, the temptation to reply to that thread is not tempting ... to me.

Now sometimes they’ll respond to an interesting open thread but there is an option for a one-time peek. Curious I’ve looked but realized their hubris meant there was no need to engage.

Ron White once said, “You can’t fix stupid.” Let ‘em stand in their own mental dung.

For the past week or so, I've been getting email notices resulting from some settings change that I did not initiate. As best I can tell, my preferences are set to not send email. Please explain why I get alert notices when none of the boxes for email are selected:
