For all EV owners living in British Columbia please respond to this survey as it will have an effect on the cost of D.C. charging on the now free network. I posted this on the Hyundai Kona EV section but now realize I should have posted a separate thread here. My concern is charging by time following other company's policies which costs more when cold charging. If B.C. Hydro is offering the opportunity to charge by kWh why not respond with your insights to this. The link is here: https://leger.decipherinc.com/survey/selfserve/542/vw41016_012a?list=3#? Sorry about the double post, but I feel all B.C. EV owners should input as much as possible. The link to my other post and concerns is here https://insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/bc-hydro-stations.5252/page-7#post-107590
Ya, I got an email today to fill in the survey. In the survey it makes the statement that they have to charge by the time spent charging, but actually BC Hydro is a utility which can charge based on kWh used. I made a point about the inequity of charging by time. I really don't mind paying for charging but it should be at the rate you normally pay to charge at home.
There needs to be a charging spot component too. At a minimum, an idle fee. Personally I have no problem with a parking meter. Bob Wilson
