It has been quite a while since I bought a new car. I have seen no discussion in either online reviews or at the Honda Canada web site about anti-theft options for this car. Would any Clarity owners care to comment – have you installed anything I should consider?
The key fobs and built in locks work well for us. I believe car thieves have a short list of cars that sell well and quickly. As much as I love the Clarity, I would doubt it's on that list. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2017/08/03/10-most-stolen-cars-and-cost-theft-insurance/527867001/
Take a look at LoJack. I'm not sure if it's available everywhere. If the car is stolen you give a number to the police with which they can locate the car. Our local dealerships have so much car theft they install LoJack on every car, then remove it when the car is sold.
The wheel pants alone will make most thieves run for their lives. Seriously though, unless you live in a high crime area, the built in alarm and auto locking is enough for me. You can also use Find My Car in the Honda Link app but only when the car is not moving. I did spend $32 on puzzle locks for the wheels since the wheel, hub cap, and tire run over $5000 for a set of 4.
