The UK got L2 cabling right

    Off topic rant: This is yet another reason to have to have user supplied type 2 charging cables as they do in the UK. Cables attached to the EVSEs are just begging thieves to harvest the precious copper. Of course this excludes DC charge cables with liquid cooling. If each one of us owned the L2 cable it would likely be pampered and never left with the J1772 connector dangling in a puddle of water.

    The grass is always greener on the other side of the pond !

  3. Yep, our local public 43kW Type 2 AC was damaged. But what's worse is that because the cost of repair by ABB is thousands of $$$, the owner has elected to remove that charge option entirely. They even won't replace it with a T2 socket because that's nearly as expensive.

    It was only just the other day that I realized that they did things like that in the UK. While I can see the logic in doing it that way, I think we are stuck with what we have.
