2012 Nissan Leaf SL, 63,000 on the clock.
This is the complete description of the diagnostic results:
Tech got code C10E1 - Need to replace electric brake motor and control unit and re-program. They were vague on what all this means but they were ready to order parts. Was quoted $1300. Should I shop around? Feedback appreciated.

Since it is out of warranty or it seems to be if you are concerned about costing, I would shop around. Try a couple of Leaf certified dealers and if you can get a listing of the parts, you can probably buy the parts yourself for cheaper then take them in with the car to get the dealer to only charge you labor. You should save a few dollars that way. If the job is nothing you feel you can do yourself.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried searching for the part but having no luck. Any suggestions on any sites I should search?

  5. Perhaps an auto wrecker might have a gen 1 Leaf with some body damage, might be worth a search.
