How not to install an EVSE

  1. ...at least the cord management.
    I posted this in Kona EV forum, but I thought I would add it here as it concerns all Evs.
    Not sure what the electrical installation contractor was thinking at the time.
    Ran into this little jewel, a newer free public EVSE close to my house.
    First picture shows the cord management holders pointing to the stars:

    causing the J1772 handles and tethered cords to do the same:

    rainwater gathering in the "cup" ensures the connectors/pins get a "good rinse" before plugging in:

    Dug out my 1/2" socket from the back, and did this to both management guides:

    Now it looks a little more professional and indeed more functional:

    Car had added ~ 1 km of range by the time I was done, literally a few minutes:)

    I get the holster thing because the Clipper Creek rebranded SCH40-100 points upwards so one could get confused with EV series being inverted. The fact that I can see the flexible PVC coated steel conduit exposed instead of being routed through the pedestal really creeps me out.

    That original installation would be full of snow and ice in my area.
