Are you certain that you're not quoting Voltaire? "Ne croyez pas tout ce que vous lisez sur Internet."
Same as above. Activating wipers may turn on headlights. Wipers are not activated automatically by rain on windshield.
The Owner's Manual for the 2020 Honda PHEV is now downloadable from Honda: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/OM/AH/ATRW2020OM/enu/ATRW2020OM.PDF The page about the wipers and headlight integration is the same as in the 2018 manual above. There is no reference to rain activation anywhere in the 2020 manual. So, it is reasonable to assume that the wiper system has not been changed from 2018. LP
In the "Amenities" section on the Honda page they list "an available heated steering wheel" along with the heated seats. No mention anywhere else that I can find (including the manual linked above).
Yes there was an original error stating rain-sensing wipers that never made it into the production product. Perhaps the 2020 simply picked up old text.
It's possible, but the 2020 Honda site trims/specs page just says "Variable Intermittent Windshield Wipers", nothing about rain-sensing. The chances that Honda made no other changes to the car but to add a single random feature that probably isn't that high on most peoples's "need" list, unlike say a volume knob (which I don't miss, just giving an example), is pretty low. Same for the AVAS -- I would not be surprised at all if it's just the same as the 2018 and 2019 and the article writers were just sloppy about finding what's "new". As far as I know the sounds they put in already comply with the regulations, so I'm not sure why they'd change it. In any case, eagerly awaiting firsthand reports from someone who gets a 2020! If they're anywhere near me we can compare sounds and features
More confirmation of CA inventory availability, with ordering still a possibility in other states: Green Car Reports: "2020 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid returns to California, other states by order." https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1126770_2020-honda-clarity-plug-in-hybrid-returns-to-california-other-states-by-order
I bought my Clarity in Massachusetts getting way better pricing using a “drive green discount” program from the green energy alliance. I got a mailing from them today about an almost 50% off program for the Chevy Bolt. Out of curiosity I went to their site to look at the Clarity discounts. Their site said that the clarity was no longer part of their program because it isn’t offered by dealers in Massachusetts. Love the clarity and keeping it for the long run but am sure glad I have an 8 year Honda warranty!
The Honda website shows them in transit to various California zip codes: https://automobiles.honda.com/tools/inventory-results?DealerId=208176&zipcode=94014&vehiclemodelseries=clarity-plug-in-hybrid&modelyear=2020
Fwiw the Fuel Cell version had "real" rain sensing wipers since 2017. So it's possible they brought it over
I'm starting to contact local dealers (metro Detriot) and one claims that the district manager has promised allocations starting in April.
I noticed that in the article posted by the OP that he/she states that the Clarity qualifies for the $7500 rebate. Seriously? Does anyone that writes articles on the Internet do any research?
Manager at the dealership where I left a deposit said first 7 Clarities were delivered to first customers in Ontario. Turns out I am not one of them
Good luck getting that "rebate" if your tax liability is $2,000.00. The real point is accuracy. If someone is going to write a supposedly professional article on the web they should at least have the basics down.
