Just got pinged by my Honda dealer asking if anyone is interested in a 2019 Clarity base trim for $6370 off MSRP ($4,000 Honda incentive + $2370 dealer discount) plus TTL.

You still qualify for the federal $7500 tax credit you can take in 2020 if you take possession by the end of the year.
    And don't forget these checks:
    $1000 CA CVRP rebate
    $1000 CA SCE utility rebate.
CA CAV HOV single occupant carpool sticker for $22 from DMV (the dealer may have put on the purple stickers already and you would pay them the $22 separately)

    Makes a $35K car down to $19K + TTL....

Message me if you want this deal...

Wish we could get this deal in WA state. Want to buy by 12/31 but no deals here.

I don't know if this dealer will ship out of state but it might be worth asking.

If you are out of state, do your own research on car transport services and line one up ahead of time to prevent issues.

Paying for transport ($1000) is a LOT cheaper than paying 9.5% sales tax (about $3,000)!

Remember, if you pick up the car in CA, you will pay sales tax of 9.5% which will not be refundable even if you register the car outside CA.

Use a shipping service to prevent paying sales tax!

Right now in WA state we have 0% sales tax up to $25K on the Clarity. That helps some. The few Clarity's I have seen up here right now the dealers believe they are in "high demand" and should be sold for MSRP only. Funny thing is none of them are lifting a finger to sell them. Most are in the back lots with dead batteries, no where to be seen. You get to test drive them with the angry bees experience.

    Just sent you a PM.

Hope you can grab one before Jan 1...

If you are a State of CA public employee or educator, you can get a not well known $500 discount - message me if you are a public employee or public educator (K-12, College, University).

After doing some extensive research, you pretty much have to be in CA to get this deal -- meaning that it has to be licensed in a "special" ZEV state. There are a few in the northeast US that qualify, too...and some limited availability; however, when learning that I don't live there, they shut down in a hurry. I've also run up against some where the dealer has ordered one in for a customer (assuming MSRP?)

I've found Clarity's listed in OH, NJ, NY, NC, FL, and TX, which are all theoretically within a day's drive for me. Was pondering getting another for the tax credit; but, that doesn't look like it is going to happen.

Yes the $4k credit is only good for CA residents - I have someone else having their son who is in CA and will do the purchase on behalf of his parents in NC in order to get the $4k.

The only negative is that even if the car eventually gets registered to NC, the sales tax would be the issue - CA won't refund and NC may charge their tax...

I am a State of CA employee, how would I go about getting this $500 discount?

Contact Annabel Cook at AHM to confirm if you are eligible.
    [email protected]

The dealer will probably not know about the program but if you present the email from Annabel Cook - the dealer will contact AHM and confirm.
You will have to provide your state employee ID badge and copy of your last paystub.

I went thru that hoop with my dealer: Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos and they honored it.
While 3 other dealers had no clue and said they would not honor it...

Remember, the $500 discount is applied at the time of purchase and tied to the F&I contract - not after you bought it.
