Mine was a cancelled order from Murray White Rock. 0052XX are the last 6 digits. Weird it is so different than everyone else’s.

That is weird. It seems like yours was in the first batch that arrived early Jan, but that VIN number is strange, as nobody else on here has mentioned a number without a 02XXXX. Cancelled orders were allowed to be test driven by dealerships, as they were now on the hook to try to sell them. Any Sold pre-orders were not allowed to be touched, you couldn't even sit in one. CJC got her's from Murray and she had quite the experience!!!! Me and Wildeyed are still waiting for the juicy details.
Is it a Galactic Grey with Grey/blue interior or a Black/Black by chance?

It’s the black / black. Why do you ask? Did you take it for a drive? If so, hope you were nice to it :)

I used it as my torque test guinea pig, pedal straight down!!! lol, just kidding!! I got an e-mail from one of their sales associates saying it was available.

My dealer now tells me that he can now accept pre-orders for the Preferred trim. He told me last week that it wouldn't happen until the end of the year.

  8. It's probably DELIVERY that will happen later in the year. Somebody else will get to experience an 8 month journey of uncertainty by ordering now. Who knows though, the way it's going they might get their Preferred before I get my Ultimate!

No, he said befor that he wouldn't be able to order until late in year and the deliveries wouldn't be until 2020. That has all changed now. It would be a real bummer if people got their Preferred before you get your Ultimate

  10. Wow. 2020? When they said delayed delivery they meant it. We'll, for your friends sake I hope the new timetable is the real deal.

Same as mine, pre-ordered July 10. They must have rushed them to the boat. Mine arrived Jan 14

  15. There's really no apparent patterns or correlation between pre-order dates, build dates or shipping times. It's all a mess. If (and I do mean if as there is so little that makes any sense) if the VINs are a true count of builds then we can assume well over 3000 vehicles are being delivered.

  16. Guess I should have waited till August, who would have thunk that pre-ordering earlier would result in an earlier delivery

Ya, I was just checking again. My pre-order date was a full month before Mdsweb's but my VIN is over I000 higher! What the actual hell? Either something is/was very wrong with my order or these VINs mean nothing chronologically. Either way, ever day that goes by makes me angrier. I just might have myself a CJC-style chat with my dealer!

Great forum. I’ve been silently observing for a while. My timeline was this: Last year decided to buy a Bolt ASAP in 2019 using the incentives from the BC Government and the Scrap-it program. Pre-ordered the Bolt in November without paying attention to EV news. November 30 a coworker mentions the Kona. I do some research, figure it’s the one I want. Call Open Road on Boundary, they say they’re no longer taking pre-orders; too much demand. Figuring this would be the case everywhere in the lower mainland, I call a dealership in my hometown West Kootenay. They’re really helpful, provide me with a lot of info and because they only have one order, can guarantee me a scrap-it voucher and a car when available (it was still up in the air when exactly). Before committing, just for due diligence, I called a dealership in North Van. They took my deposit, didn’t commit to a scrap-it voucher and said I was 35th in line on pre-orders, but seventh for scrap-it. Heard nothing until hounding my dealer in January, and I told him that my buying the Kona was time-sensitive (needed it by April, which is true); and I didn’t care if I missed out on the Kona, I had a pre-order Bolt ready right now. After a day or two he got back to me and said I’m guaranteed a car and the scrap-it voucher and that the car would arrive in February. To my surprise it did, and I picked it up on Friday, February 8. My build date was December 24. I’m still getting used to this weird futuristic car, but I’ve been driving manual foresters for most of my driving life that I think it will take some time to warm up to it.

  19. I'm glad you got a car and thank you for telling your story. That being said it makes me want to puke.

    (VIN-related) Any idea on the 9th character in the VIN ? I've seen ...AG3KU, ...AG5KU, and ...
AG9KU. Don't appear related to VIN order, as the AG3KU is on a car with 0237xx.

  21. I don't really know. There are some VIN decoders online that might help.

  23. It says it the "security check" digit. I'm not sure what that means.
