GM announced a couple days ago that, going forward, Cadillac would be its lead electric brand. It just now revealed a rendering of its first all-electric vehicle, a crossover. Not a whole lot of details out yet -- not even a name. We do know that it will be built on a dedicated EV platform. Personally, I find this render to be kind of vanilla. Hopefully, it will get a bit more personality on the way to production form. What do you think? Is GM finally on the right track here?
About damned time! Probably not, they’ll not put in Super Cruise or some other stuff such as OTA updates. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I fully expect it to get SuperCruise. OTA is a tougher nut to crack. They need it to stay technologically relevant, though.
What I find curious is no reports on the impact of Tesla on Cadillac sales. Probably need Tesla impacts on Corvette sales too. Bob Wilson
That's a good point. Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche are often brought up, but the effect on Cadillac isn't (that I've noticed). I would bet that at least some small percentage of potential Cadillac buyers have picked up Tesla instead.
One Cadillac reference in this Jalopnik article. They reference: http://www.goodcarbadcar.net Bob Wilson
