Sorry, yes, that's for a Touring model. Bleh, I'm emailing all of the Honda dealerships within about a 50 mile radius. One came back with a quote that was $360 under MSRP. Another wants me to come in to check the car out and doesn't want to quote me an actual number. This is going great!
I suspect you will find out that it is either 1) A base model or 2) They factored in the $2500 rebate in TX If not and it is truly $32K for a new touring incl accessories/TTL, grab it
They did etching but nothing else. Elk Grove Honda had it for 33405 but that included over $900 in accessories that were automatically put on the car.
Finally (after much frustration with bait&switch at 2 NJ dealers[my prior comments]) bought the base model at a PA dealer--picking it up tomorrow. 31,800 including destination/dealer fees. And higher VIN (see below) than cars I'd looked at previously (built in May, dealer rec'd in July). I added $770 worth of accessories to that (wheel locks, splash guards, body side molding, all season mats, cargo tray), bringing total before taxes and PA title to about 32,600. Yes, I might have gotten the accessories cheaper by mail as some have posted in the forum, but the convenience outweighed for me. Tomorrow I'll see if they'll match or better the Hondacare price quote I have from Hyannis (found through this forum). They promised to install the software updates, including SB 18-069 and SB 18-079, fully charge the car, and insert the 4 body plugs. Things I learned that might save you time & angst: Only residents of NJ (I'm PA) qualify for the 1,500 dealer incentive in that state. Might be the same for all the states that have that EV dealer incentive. Despite me telling 2 dealers I live in PA, they quoted me a price with the 1500 discount built in and then tried to reneg at the contract-signing stage. This, in addition to some other absurdly low (fake) quotes from the 2 dealers I named earlier in this thread. Clarities that sit. You've read cautions about batteries going dead since dealers aren't charging them. And you've seen the advice to pick cars with higher VIN numbers so they won't have been sitting around as long. Here's another one: I was about to buy a car and the dealer found an insect infestation in it. They used a pesticide bomb. Thankfully they were honest about this and told me they'd find me another car (and then didn't get back to me, but that's another story). So assure you go to the (remote) lot where the car you plan to buy is sitting and check it thoroughly before purchasing. Ask about pesticides if that concerns you.
Got my SoCal check a few days ago. California state rebate finally got approved, only took two months.
At least you folks get additional rebates. Only perk NC gets is the fed tax credit. Good for you guys...really makes the Clarity a great value.
There is a new lease offer, apparently for some NE states. I put New Jersey as the location. This might only be the base model, not sure. "$209 Per month for 36 months. $2,299 total due at signing. Expires 10/31/18 Includes down payment with no security deposit. Excludes taxes, title and either dealer fees or documentary service fee. For well-qualified lessees." Only for residents of the following ZEV States: CT, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, RI, VT
There are a couple NE dealers through the 'Drive Green' program offering Clarity base model leases at $189/mo; 36 months; 12,000 miles/year; $2500 at signing http://massenergywebservices.com/drivegreen/table-all.php Considering how many free (public) level 2 chargers there are around here, it is as close to free transportation as you can get.
Hmm, looks like prices are creeping up. Is it because 2018 model year inventory is low or is the car becoming popular ???
I paid $34,060 OTD for a base model with mud guards in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Or $31,800 before all the taxes and fees. That price is a bit below the average True Care price, but from looking at all the other posts, I'm feeling that I overpaid.
End of the year coming, people are thinking about their tax returns to decide to buy this year. Inventories are also dropping in some places.
