Stupid FL law probably lobbied by car dealers..

If you title the car in a different state and get Honda Care, I'm sure it will transfer over. AFAIK if you initially title the car in FL, you must purchase it from an FL dealer. We need a Saccussi or Hyannis in FL ready to screw all other dealers... Should be a class action lawsuit for price gauging...

Question for those who did Honda Financing - Does it have any prepayment penalties or fees ?

Looks like most dealers are pushing AHF financing in SoCal now.

No prepayment penalty or fee when you paid off

I have read on other forums where you can still purchase HondaCare with your vin if you "have an address from another state." Many people on other Honda forums are using friends or families addresses to ship their warranty to. I have not done this; just passing along the information.

When you use the warranty, its already tied to the VIN # and can be used Nationwide, including Florida. Nothing to say you lived out of state and then moved to Florida. Just a FYI.

I live in Louisville, KY, but bought a Base model in NYC for $30,175+TTL= $32,125 OTD. The price does include the protection package (wheel locks, trunk tray, all-season-mats). They will handle my KY DMV registration. My local dealership (Honda World of Louisville) was laughing at me when I've offered $33K as the OTD.

Since we are on the topic of out of state purchases, has anyone got the base model in Los Angeles area around
$ 30K WITHOUT having to do Honda Financing. If yes, please post or send me a message.

Looks like the dealers get some kickback with AHF financing and are willing to discount with that, but since I am registering the car in NV, I am apparently not eligible for their "finance cash" discount.

I got it at Lute Riley. It took quite a bit of back and forhf before they agreed. It was one that they had in stock since Feb and had about 400 miles.

The next closest price I got was from Honda of Denton. They wanted $36875 out the door. I'm not sure how genuine that was because the dealer sent it to me at 6pm for that day only and they closed at 8. I already had plans for the evening so it was a nonstarter.

NOPE. Run around akin to bait and switch from them and from Open Road in Edison. Planet Honda supposedly "made a mistake" and hadn't included destination, even though their quote said it included it, I phoned twice to verify, and I even emailed owner to verify. When I was told "mistake," I contacted the owner and received a nasty reply.

Open Road I got a lowball price on phone--an unbelievable 27.5k and I phoned twice to have them confirm before driving there (far for me). In person, supposedly they'd honor that price, which was a tad lower than the costco price and agreed to take off those padded "installed items" that I didn't want (nearly 2k add'l that they add to all cars above costco price). But today after several phone calls I was told the costco price mistakingly included the NJ 1500 incentive that I don't qualify for (I'm PA) and not only that, he renegged on taking off those installed items; would only halve the cost to $1k. When I said their front line person gave me the 27.5k by phone yesterday and it had nothing to do with costco pricing, he said that was verbal. I said, you mean you practice bait and switching. Of course he denied that and told me the woman I spoke with and met in person yesterday when I came in who gave me that price no longer works there. Have no idea if that's true, but even so, a customer service person wouldn't just make up a price whole cloth without management's direction.

So, I'll likely go back to Clinton Honda whose price isn't lowest (costco price 32.4 at the moment including destination) but now they're within about $800 of the latest sleazy dealer. Also, as I think su_A_ve (or someone) posted earlier, Open Road's other tactic is price only good today, which is what they did on the phone to me, even though costco pricing should be good for longer than a day. All this, HUGE waste of my time. Hopefully I'm saving some of you time. When I do buy, I'll post the actual price.

btw, su_A_ve, I called costco auto and they said Hamilton isn't offering our car through the program any longer...you probably broke the bank!

I worked with Michael Davis. I think it was the 2nd Clarity he'd ever sold.

I got a bait and switch through USAA's car purchase program with TruCar. A dealer sent me a certificate with guaranteed savings, and then would not honor it but had "very competitive rates for [my] area." I spent hours complaining to USAA (whose rep's said that dealers could not refuse to honor these certificates) and TruCar, but in the end, no one cared. So don't trust 'em.

Just got a base model for 34,500 OTD with lots of goodies & the .9% financing. Prices in Florida seem much higher than other parts of the country, and this was the best I could do. Got it from Regal Honda in Lakeland from a great salesman. If anyone needs a good price from a good salesman, pm me.

Heading out to sign paperwork for new touring model for $32,908 plus $450 doc fee and $175 license fee (plus taxes of course). Looking at $35.6k OTD financed at 0.9% for 5 years. I’ll miss my ‘16 touring accord but the $10k tax rebate for federal and state gets me a brand new clarity for $900 after my trade in.
