Constantly watching for mats better than the OEM Honda Accessory mats since for those of us in snowy areas that use road salt and sand, stock won't protect much as they don't have a high enough lip to hold the water/slush/snow to protect the carpets.

I'n constantly watching for updates from the following vendors:
    1. http://www.weathertech.com/honda/2018/clarity-plug-in-hybrid/
    2. https://www.tuxmat.ca/honda-models.html
    3. https://www.huskyliners.com/WeatherBeater-Floor-Mats

I've had full Weathertech Digifit Floorliners for my last 4 cars and I swear by them. These new Tuxmats look like they protect more of the sides but are made of multiple layers stitched together at the seams with the actual waterproof layer being thinner and likely more puncture prone than the injection molded weather techs.
The layer underneath is more like felt or the material most OEM trunk materials are molded from.
I haven't had any experience with Husky liners.

I agree. The Honda’s are not as good as the WeatherTech’s I’ve had in a Tacoma for the reasons you stated. I got them because WeatherTechs not yet out and I had to have something. Thanks for the links.

Question: The front part of your trunk seems much higher than my PHEV Clarity.
Is yours an EV and that’s the extra battery capacity? And is that the often rumored but rarely seen trunk shelf organizer on top of it that we’ve been trying to figure out where it goes. Or is that just how the trunk comes. Thanks

That's not my car (I'm still waiting for delivery actually), it's the stock accessory photo for the trunk liner which I think is fitted in the Clarity FCV. That hump is supposedly the Hydrogen fuel cell.

Some psotters have referred to a "rear window shelf". I bet that's it… only visible in the FCV.

We bought our Clarity on December 7th and it was snowing like mad here in upstate NY so the first accessory I looked for was floor trays. Being a long-time Weathertech fan and customer I was also disappointed to see the did not have them. I typically don’t go with OEM accessories, but thought I’d try the Floor trays. I was very pleasantly surprised how nice they are. I bought them online through College Hills Honda for $114 for a set of 4. That’s a lot cheaper than WeatherTech. http://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/08P17-TRT-110.html
I’m a stickler for quality and I think the these trays are equivalent to the WeatherTechs we have in our Prius. We’ve been using them for almost 4 months now and the have saved our nice carpeted mats and are holding up like new. I highly recommend these. Now I’m considering the trunk trays.

Got the following email from WeatherTech Thursday:
Thank you so much for your interest in our WeatherTech products! We’re hoping to have the laser-measured floorliners for the 2018 Honda Clarity by June or July. I reassure you that our product development team is working around the clock to make as much as we can available to our customers. Please feel free to fill out our new product update form which is located on our website in the customer service section and you will be notified via email when they are available for purchase. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

KentuckyKen - If you have the PHEV, the liner shown in the original post will only fit about a 1/3 of your trunk. I've returned mine and I'm hoping for a full trunk liner to be made. You can see how it fits by looking under the cargo net in the photo below.

I spoke with Honda and the shelf organizer for the Clarity is similar to what they have for the CRV. She said I would have to have the cargo net anchors installed and it looks like this: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/08U20-S9V-101.html

Although I'd prefer a whole-trunk liner, I bought the short, expensive partial-trunk liner that Honda sells, it being the only option. The wheels on my Dad's walker sit on that liner just inside the trunk opening, catching the salt and melting snow, that works for me. It won't be as satisfactory for hauling gardening supplies, however.

Now that Weathertech has released the floorliners for the front passengers and hopefully soon the rear, I hope they release a trunk liner version. They have one for Accords and Civics soo...

Plus Tuxmat nor Husky don't have anything.

The only annoying thing about Weathertechs is I can never get them to look and clean as when they’re new. I power wash and use liquid soap and scrub and they always still look a bit after they dry.

I could probably use some armour all to get them looking black and shiny but then they’d be slippery.

    Nice!
How much did you pay for the whole set, front & back, plus shipping & handling?

Nice mats! Even the clips fit.

  20. For those who have tuxmat which doesn't use clips but a non-slipping bottom, does it slide or work good without clips?

I have those full rubber-like floor mat similar to WeatherTech for my Jeep, which makes sense as it can get soaked for offroad, but I probably prefer Tuxmat's look and feel for Clarity.

Mine actually came with a ton of clips you can clip on the sides and an anchor for the driver-side mat. Basically its a needle attached to a tab that you lock into place to your floor mat. And i haven't had any issues of any of the mats sliding around.

And not to knock weathertech, but the TuxMats also covers more like the dead pedal.

  22. For clips, I mean the factory anchor for the floor mat. WeatherTech has holes for them while Tuxmat seems just cover them up.

Wouldn't the Tuxmat clips make it inconvenient to take the mats out for cleaning?
I like Tuxmat covering the whole dead pedal, while WeatherTech looks like incomplete

The side clips can be removed. They weren’t necessary but I did it anyway only for the driver side mat. The Tuxmat has a hole for the anchor that they include. The anchor they include has a needle that installs into your car floor. The same anchor will lock into place through the hole of your driver side floor mat. They basically replicate the OEM anchor.
