Here's a project where I used vinyl wrap and plasti-dip to see what worked better for me.

Well, the colors you added certainly do improve the appearance... but then, the original aero covers are so ugly that almost any change would be an improvement! And not to cast aspersions on your creativity or hard work, MTN Rangers, but it seems like an awful lot of work to go thru just for a mild cosmetic improvement.

I feel pretty confident that we'll soon see some aftermarket wheel covers on the market which will show a vast improvement in appearance. Hopefully covers which will preserve almost all of the aerodynamic advantage of the stock covers!

I don't get it. He's not selling anything, and this isn't spam. Hopefully that was just a malfunction of this forum's software?

  4. Actually, I kind of like the way that looks. Kind of takes some of the "ugh" away for me.

  5. It wasn't bad, it only a took a Saturday to do it. Most of the time was due to masking off the areas not to be sprayed aluminum. As far as colors go, there are dozens of plasti-dip matte and metallic colors to choose from. So people can get some ideas and experiment. The great thing is that you can just peel it off if you end up not liking it or get bored.

Sigh, I've already been officially messaged about this.

Domenick, would you care to comment on just what forum rule MTN Ranger violated?

Honestly, It's not my intention here to argue with the moderator/forum owner, I'm simply trying to figure out what rule was violated.

  8. An administrator was concerned he was just dropping off videos to farm clicks and not interacting at all. I explained that @MTN Ranger is a long-time InsideEVs community member and that I encouraged him to make some videos. So, I think we're good now.
