I'm about to go in and negotiate for the 2024 Kona myself. What sort of trade-in are you anticipating? I've seen prices all over the place. Some places seem to treat used EVs like trash while others seem to recognize value in the used EV market.
Well That is something to ponder. I was told $30,000. IF you look on auto trader they are selling for about $30,000 tp $35,000. Now if it was a year ago probably more, there is more inventory out there these days My dealer showed me their sales for 9 months ago and they were about $5000 more. What I do is get them to throw in all weather mats and mud guards and anything else you want. Be up front and call BS when you hear it. They know me at the dealer so they know where I'm coming from. Plus I also know they need to make money as well
Thanks. That's a similar scenario to what I'm seeing as well. I just hope my dealer doesn't try to lowball me. I hate having to fight tooth and nail for every penny.
I was just checking out local dealer websites now that they are receiving stock. They are listing the '24 Kona EV for almost $2000 over MSRP including an inflated delivery fee and "accessories". Not a great start... * Actually l just noticed that their posted price is $56,000 BEFORE taxes and the price INCLUDING taxes is $55,500 on the Hyundai build site. Ugh.
I just wanted to quickly share a couple photos of my new purchase. I was going through a mid-life crisis... After buying it (2024 Kona Electric Ultimate trim), I took it to QE Park in Vancouver for a mini-photo session. Now it's resting comfortably in the garage, which is too embarrassing messy to take a photo of. Thank you all for your insights and contributions to these forums. I don't have all the knowledge you folks have, but I enjoy reading your posts. Oh yeah, mats and flaps will be coming later because they told me they don't have stock in yet. Do ask to throw them in with your purchase.
Wow that's a beauty you must have one of the first in BC... does it have a frunk? Can you open the hatch with your key fob.
The "Meta Blue" is a pretty color and changes to a purple shade depending on the ambient light. Enjoy your new Kona EV, thanks for the photos look forward to following up posts.
I'm going to check out the frunk. You cannot directly open it with the key fob/smart key. Ugh! I think I like the old fob better. The new one looks like a cheap, plastic silver egg... Oops, scratch that - my fob has no button to open the tailgate...
They do come with a frunk, less than 1 cubic foot but better than nothing. More importantly, do they come c/w a level 1 EVSE that fits in there?
Sorry about the mess... The frunk had a little light turn on for a minute, but it's now off... Frunk opened. The level 1 charger is in the trunk. I'll load it into the frunk...
Lots of room...Next question The new ice Kona had room for a spare tire in the trunk under the trunk mat. in fact there is a spot to secure that spare as well. Is it there room for one on the EV. Sorry for all the questions
Underneath that, we have... Charger wrapped up and spare tire accessory (if you put in a spare in the trunk). Level 1 charger in the frunk. Fits nicely... Removed wrapping from charger for a better look - I may actually use this one day, so now it's opened...
One more thing that I noticed: I don't know about the previous year models, but the front hood no longer needs a support bar to hold it up. It just stays up, like the trunk.
