There is the option to look for the closest charging stations in the Kona. My SEL does NOT have the built in navigation system and I have not received any updates at all for my car. Recently, I checked for local charging stations on the Kona and the list of charging stations included some stations that were added months after I purchased the car. How was that charging stations added to the list if the Kona does not receive OTA updates??
That same question was asked in this thread and the answer is here: https://insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/how-is-the-charging-station-list-updated-on-the-kona.8747/#post-98543 BTW welcome to the forum.
Not just did he ask the same question, he also used the same exact wording that I used.... Copy and paste of my post...
To be clearer, because the other thread wasn't ... updates are sent through a dedicated Sirius XM channel, which works even if you don't have an active XM subscription. Bluelink / cellular-data or FM radio is not part of the picture. I can confidently state this because that is my current situation. No Bluelink or cell-data connection at all -- per this fix -- and chucking all the Sirius offers spam snailmail unread. The XM radio is down to about three active channels, proving that I don't have a subscription, and yet the list of nearby charger locations still shows up -- but only after the XM antenna was reconnected. _H*
Has anyone compared how current/accurate Hyundai's charging station is compared with, say, Plugshare or other sites?
